UPSC Syllabus

     In this blog we, will discuss about the U.P.S.C. Civil Services Syllabus for the year 2022. We have already created a blog regarding the vacancy notification of U.P.S.C. Civil Services. You can check that article by clicking here. The syllabus for the U.P.S.C. Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2022 is as mentioned below:

Paper-I (200 Marks)

  • Current Events of National and International Importance.
  • History of India and Indian National Movement.
  • Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
  • Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
  • Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
  • General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.
  • General Science.

Paper-II (200 Marks)

  •  Comprehension;
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability;
  • Decision making and problem solving;
  • General mental ability;
  • Basic Numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables data sufficiency etc. - Class X level).

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2022 Notification

    The Notification for UPSC Civil Services Exam has been released today i.e., on 02/02/2022. Just like every year, the notification is released for filling up various vacant posts of the central government of India. These posts include I.A.S., I.P.S., I.R.S., I.F.S., etc. All interested candidates should apply for these posts.


    The eligibility criteria for applying are as mentioned below:

Nationality: For Indian Administrative Service (I.A.S.), Indian Foreign Services (I.F.S.), and Indian Police Service (I.P.S.) a candidate must be a citizen of India. For any other services, a candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India for permanent settlement before 01/01/1962, or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam for permanent settlement.

Age Limit: A candidate must be a minimum of 21 Years old and a maximum of 32 Years old however age relaxation of 5 years for S.C./S.T. candidates, 3 years for O.B.C. candidates, 3 years for Defence Staff Personnel disabled during operation, 5 years for ex-serviceman, and maximum up to 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disability has been provided.

Educational Qualification: A candidate must possess any graduate degree or equivalent degree from a recognized university.

Attempts: A candidate should not have reached the maximum number of limits allowed by UPSC. The maximum number of attempts allowed is 6 for general candidates, unlimited for S.C./S.T. candidates, 9 for O.B.C. candidates, and 09 for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.


    All the interested candidates should submit their applications online at http://www.upsconline.nic.in. The last date to apply online is 22/02/2022 by 06:00 P.M. All the candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- however Female/S.C./S.T./Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are exempted from Fee Payment).
