The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is an examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on a national level, to certify the eligibility of candidates to be appointed as teachers at Primary and Upper Primary levels. The 14th edition of this exam will be conducted on 5th July, 2020 (Sunday). This time it will be conducted in 20 languages in 112 cities all over the country.

ELIGIBILTY
The eligibility criteria for primary level and upper primary level is different. Let's go through the required educational qualification for both these levels:
Educational Qualification for classes I-V (Paper- 1):
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration) OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing minimum 45% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration), according to the NCTE Regulations 2002. OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration).OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
- A candidate who has Bachelor’s degree and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration).
Educational Qualification for classes VI - VIII (Paper - 2):
- A candidate who holds a Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education. OR
- A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 40% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education, according to NCTE regulations. OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR
- A candidate who has Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in B.Ed program of 1 year duration.
AGE LIMIT
- There is no restriction on the age limit for this examination.
IMPORTANT DATES
- Last Date to apply: 24th Feb, 2020
- CTET tentative exam date: 5th July, 2020
- Expected date of result: 27th July
The Time scheduled for CTET - July, 2020 is given below:
(The Paper- 1 will be conducted in the morning session and Paper- 2 in the afternoon session.)
- Paper - 1: 9:30 AM to 12:00 NOON
- Paper - 2: 2:00 PM to 04:30 PM
- The duration of both the papers will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.

STEP 1: REGISTRATION
- Go to the direct link provided above
- Click on New Registration
- Enter personal details in the form, as it is mentioned on your class 10 certificate.
- Choose any 3 exam centers, your preferred language and paper option
- Fill up the required academic, communication and other details and then the security text.
STEP 2: UPLOADING PHOTOGRAPH AND SIGNATUE
- Upload the photograph in the prescribed format
- Upload the signature.
STEP 3; PAYMENT OF FEES
- We recommend online fee payment as it is a more convenient option
- Other than online payment, you can also pay the fees through offline mode by downloading the e-challan and depositing the fee in Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank.
- A preview of the final page will be displayed on the screen
- Print it for future reference.
APPLICATION FEES
- ONLY PAPER- 1 OR 2: General/OBC - Rs. 1000/- & SC/ST/Diff. Abled - Rs. 500/-
- BOTH PAPER- 1 & 2 General/OBC - Rs. 1200/- & SC/ST/Diff. Abled - Rs. 600/-
